You should strongly consider majoring (or minoring) in a foreign language, especially French or Spanish as they have a greater use in today’s world. But other languages could be useful to you as well, such as Chinese, Japanese, German, Italian, or many others. With a major in a foreign language you could teach, or work for a company as a translator or foreign correspondant.

It is possible that the best major for you is your 2nd, 3rd, or even 5th listed category, so be sure to consider ALL majors in your OTHER high scoring categories (below). You may score high in a category you didnt think you would–it is possible that a great major for you is something you once dismissed as not for you. The right major for you will be something 1) you love and enjoy and 2) are really great at it.

Consider adding a minor or double majoring to make yourself standout and to combine your interests. A minor in a foriegn language is useful for ANY major. Also, business or political science are great minors for a foreign language major. Please post your results in your myspace/blog/journal.

It took me so much time to finish this!!!

My senior high graduation trip began at a pure and fresh morning. It was a sunny morning which drove tiredness and worries out, making everyone exciting and joyful. We were all excited about this 4-day-and-three-night trip, in which we were going to visit several interesting tourist spots and stayed in a famous beach resort down south.

Our tour bus set out with noisy chatting, and left for glorious southern Taiwan at 7 A.M. sharp. However, most of us felt tired out after several-hour drive; as a result, when arriving at the rest area, we all needed to get out of the tour bus and had a great stretch. We also took some photos (photo 1) over there. Then hours later, after finishing the lunch, we reached our first destination–Endemic Species Research Institute(特有生物保育中心). During the period we visited, we were accompanied with a great and kind narrator, who taught us a lot of information about plants and insects and always answered our questions patiently. We then finish our informative stroll in a carefree mood and started another adventure to next destination–Ming Shing Academy (photo 2). The ancient Academy is an elegant san-ho-yuan which was famous for its historical memorial value. It is abundant in Chinese traditional patterns, which gave a harmonious atmosphere. However, it was a regret that we didn’t have enough time to explore and appreciate its beauty. On the first day, we went to JjJi train station and the temple of Wu Chang in memory of the severe 921 earthquake in 1999.

Indeed things I mentioned above were very interesting, but the most impressive thing, for me, is the happy leisure time in YoHo, the beach resort village we stayed for two nights. In fact, there is nothing special in the graduation trip in comparison with them in elementary school and junior high, but it is the activities and interaction between my classmates and me that gave us unforgettable memories. We played volley ball on the beach (photo3), enjoy the blowing wind and had a crazy time all night! We had barbeque and an exciting night party which made everyone laugh and cry.(photo4)

     Four days soon zipped by, only left these joyful memories and endless reflection. Four days passed by soon of course, but these memories will be immortal in everyone’s heart=]

~The End~

     From the process of this project, I learned how to make my arrangement form, which makes me realize how unhealthy my eating habit is. And I distilled everyone’s comments into a summary, improving my comprehension ability and writing skills. Besides, by exchanging eating habit forums with other countries, I learned various culture around the world.

     Different from former projects,  this time we worked together and had a good cooperation. I think group discussion can not only reduce our stress but also integrate multiple opinions. Most important of all, we learned as much as we worked all alone.

For some reason, I haven’t studied for almost 3 weeks. But time and tide wait for no man, and the midterm is around the corner. I care about my scholar grades very much, but I’m not in the mood to study until now. The thing making me sad haunted my mind, and I really want to get rid of it… I’ll do my utmost to forget the sad thing…

“We only have one earth”. This is a simple, common but meaningful sentence.

There is no one but knows this sentence. But, how many people really know its importance? How many person take actions to protect our earth practically?

The answer I think is negative.

Human being’s selflish and arrogance has cause many problems– desertification, global warming, greenhouse effect, and more and more endangered species. We all know what we have done, we also know what these will hasten. But we STILL cut down tropical rainforests along  Amazon, still ignore the nature’s energy.

Nowadays, the eco-activist is rising. Human beings have to handle with the problem they made! I think it is necessary for us to join this project! Although we’re just students, but we can convey this idea though this play. And, to let everyone know this issue is not only the earth’s crisis, but also the human beings’ threaten is just the purpose of this project, isn’t it?

Today, I have interviewed my grandmother in my house…

Jami： Good evening, grandma. Thank you for accepting my interview! We haven’t been met for a while, right?

Grandma： Good evening. Yes, it has been two weeks! By the way, I’m happy that I can help you to finish your assignment!

Jami： Oh, thank you very much! Well, first, do you remember what your earliest childhood memory was?

Grandma： Umm… That’s a good question. I think it was when I’m 5 to 6 years old. Then, the Japanese army came to Taiwan and occupied
Taipei. So we were assigned to migrate to Tai-Chung. My family was allotted a preserves factory to live in. There was a river near to the factory, and my sib and I often went there to play.

Jami： Wow, rivers seldom can be a place to have fun now…

Grandma： Yes, but rivers were very clean at past. I remember that there was a suspension bridge over the river. The bridge was wooden and had a lot of gaps. I once even threw little stone from the cracks!! And I was scolded by my parents because I hit a person!!

Jami： Ha!! You’re so naughty! Besides going to the river, do you remember what kind of game did you play growing up?

Grandma： First, I will tell you that you are really lucky and blest. The age I live in, there was “no computers”, “no gameboys”, all we have, I think, was the nature. We put sands in cloth and sewed it up, it became a popular toy called “sand bag”. But my favorite game is “jump rope”! 

Jami： Jump rope! I play it when I was in elementary school, too! 

Grandma： Yeah. Actually, we played “Hopscotch”, too. But, nowadays, children often prefer playing computer games than these natural games we used to play. 

Jami： I think you are right…We really seldom play them since we grew up. I think it related to allowance. How much did you receive for allowance?      

Grandma： Allowance!? Ha! Ha! Are you kidding? We may not have foods to eat! How come we would have allowance!

Jami： Oh…I can’t imagine how poor the circumstance was in the past! Do you remember what event impressed you most?

Grandma： Well, I think it occurred when I was at the first grade in elementary school. That was an odd experience because the earthquake struck so often that everyone said that “
Taiwan will sink!”. It seemed to be the “last day of
Taiwan”, so everybody buy food to eat. Because they believe that people shouldn’t die hungrily! It’s so crazy, right? But it really happened!  

Jami： Yes, it’s so crazy…but I think people do crazy things because they feel hopeless. Didn’t you feel desperate?

Grandma： No, maybe I was too young, but we really didn’t have redundant money to buy anything. If it was really the last day of
Taiwan, all we could do is wait—wait to die. Although I was young then, I still felt scared.

Jami： I believe that it must have been a hard time for you. By the way, what did you think the most inconvenient thing in the past?

Grandma： Water!! We didn’t have tap water then, so we had to dip up water from the well. When we were going to bathe, we had to boil the water, and take turns sharing hot water! In order to save water and firewood, a barrel of water should be shared by five to six people! Washing clothes was another problem. Because the well was far away from my house, I usually walked to the “gully” to wash clothes. The gully was traced back to an ice-cream factory. People always went there to get water. The boys even bathed themselves there directly!  

Jami： Oh, it’s really inconvenient! How about the electricity? Did you have fluorescent lamp?

Grandma： Yes, we did. But we only had electricity at night. In the daytime, we won’t turn on the fluorescent lamp.

Jami： Well, finishing the interview, I really approve what you said at first! I congratulate myself for living in the modern times! 

Grandma： Yes, you all are really blessedly. Most importantly, everybody loves you!

Jami： Yeah! Thank you again, grandma!
